iPad 3G mini card to be present in Indonesia

XL mobile operator launched its micro SIM cards Axiata aka Mini SIM Card for postpaid broadband Internet services. Mini SIM card can be used directly in the iPad 3G without bothering to cut it anymore.

"For the first phase, we spread 5000 inaugural mini-card unit in the entire XL Center in Greater Jakarta," said Head of Marketing Mobile Data Services XL, Budi Harjono, in his statement here on Monday (6/14/2010).

Users of this postpaid internet mini card will be charged at USD 150 000 per 30 days for 1GB usage quota. This card is purely for Internet access only and can not be used to make or receive phone calls or SMS short messages.

For Internet packet Rp 150.000/30 day / FUP1GB, access speeds can reach 256 Kbps. If you have reached the quota of 1GB then the speed will be reduced to 64 Kbps. Speed access and quotas will come back to the beginning after 30 days.

"We have customers XL has reached 32.6 million, where user data access service has reached 13.5 million Internet subscribers." Budi concluded.

In addition to XL, Telkomsel's cellular operators will also prime the micro SIM cards next week. Besides going to release a mini card, a subsidiary of Telkom was also preparing the market square off iPad 3G and iPhone 4.
